I don't think there is anything wrong with waking them up. I've done it before. The other week Hannah was clearly having a good dream, wagging her tail like allgetout! I've never seen that happen before and it was fun to watch her...I didn't bother her at all, I figured...cool..she's having a fun dream!

Do you mean, a nightmare, or a dream. I have two dogs and often watch them running in their sleep, twitching and sometimes giving little barks. I just say, using their name. ' Go to sleep Tiger??' and it all stops.

Maybe they are having fun and excitement in their dream. Why end it? q:)

I'd want to be woken if I were having one. Just do it gently. His perception of dream/reality might blur.

A comforting loving voice from his/her master would help ease the poor little thing if that is what you feel was happening. Just "Good dog" or something, a few times.
-
There's no problem with waking them up. It could be a dream that is just exciting.

I try to sooth my dogs when they are having particularly active dreams. I say be careful though only because I have seen one of my dogs wake up and growl and lunge towards the other dogs.

I do it all the time, although touching my dogs to wake them up usually startles them so i just call out their names softly -almost whispering- till they either begin to sleep soundly or wake up slowly sometimes going right back to sleep.
