  • Granite is definitely the most resistant of them. Being an intrusive igneous rock, it cools under heavy pressure which makes it very dense. In fact it is so dense and weather resistant, sometimes the rock on top of and around it weathers and erodes away, leaving only the much younger granite remaining. It's commonly used in masonry and construction for it's density and resistance to erosion.
