It's about to. Moving from VA to NY, I got a new rate quote that is going to triple what I pay. It's keeping me up at night.

A lot of drivers pay more than $200 a month for insurance. It depends on the coverage, vehicles, credit, location, driving history and driving record. There are other factors as well that determine the cost of insurance. If you only received 1 quote and bought an insurance policy, then you are most likely over paying for insurance. You should get several auto insurance quotes from many companies to insure you are getting the best rate.

I had to pay that once when I got ticketed for evading responsibility years ago. I now pay a little under $100 a month.

    No, not even close.

We pay around $120.00 a month for two trucks and a motorcycle all with full coverage. One of the benefits of getting old.

    No...

With all the discounts I get, it runs a little less than 50 a month.

But I pay it once a year in a lump sum.

No. If you are paying that much it might be worth checking around and doing some comparison shopping.

Since I'm a single white male under the age of 25 with a long family history of military service and severe mental disorders involving discharge from said military service, and no credit, I can't get insurance anywhere for under 300 a month, and boy have I looked. Looks like its the bus for me.

No, it cost me £950 this year, which is only because I had an accident last year and have no no claims discount. Next year it should be cheaper. Last year it was £600.
