Obama wants power to control executive pay packages at firms that receive government assistance/bailouts . Your thoughts?

With it being corporations that receive benefit money from tax payers I see no problem with it, even encourage it. Private companies he's leaving alone, but these companies that are receiving tax payer money and with it government money I think it's good that should have a cap. I don't like it when you see the workers having benefits cut, and taken away along with lower wages when the CEO and boards are receiving record incomes and bonus's. That's my view

Good idea. I am against giving the greedy just because it has been done in the past. Their pay, etc. should reflect the salaries of all of those who work for the government and people say are "at the public trough." It would be really interesting.

I'm not seeing that power listed in the Constitution. More than that, President Obama has no more idea of the correct amount of money to pay a given person than anyone else does.

One question, Shouldn't this of been done "BEFORE" billions of tax payers dollers were given to companies not after ?

This should have been done before AIG made asses out of the taxpayers. Better late than never I suppose.

If the pay is egregious I'm all for it. If these guys were so doggone excellent at what they did how come they needed bailouts? They needed bailouts because they ground down the company and sucked the lifeblood out of it. If they don't have the good sense to be temperate and moderate with respect to pay, I say let the cop take care of it unless and until the bailout money is paid back, with interest and the company becomes viable again. These guys are like little kids. You don't give little kids credit cards and say "go for it...sky's the limit"! :)

should have been done years ago ... the greed at the top end of town was and still is obscene. The ones who are whinging are the same fools who let their companies go down the shitter and yet still got top dollar for allowing it

No need, take a few out and shoot them in the back of the head. Then pass out the bailout money, see how much they give themselves then. . Seriously though, if they can't regulate themselves then I guess the people have to.
