A fine nation responsible for much of Western Civilization. Willing to face up to its international responsibilities. Probably too crowded and rainy for my tastes, though.

For Germans absolutely no place to go to. As a German I never would spend my holidays there. You can be glad if they won't burn your car in regard of your German plate.

I've never been to England, but I've been interested in going for a long time, if only to see the country that has influenced the education system of America. We have your nursery rhythms, poets and writers, and you are part of our history. England has stood with the US in world politics for a long time. I don't know many English of today, but where I come from, there are many people that have ancestors who came from England, including one of my best friends. I would say, I have a favorable opinion of England.

I have yet to go to England, but I've been an "Anglophile" for about as long as I've been alive - 45 years as a matter of fact. Music was one of the first things that drew me in, growing up in the late 60's into the 70's most of the bands I liked were from England. Then there was the literature, Charles Dickens and Lewis Caroll in particular, then there was Monty Python, Benny Hill. I have a particular affection for the Victorian era. All that trussed-up psuedo-prudery is very pervy, but in a fun way. One of the things I'd like to do if I ever get there is have a "fetish holdiay" with a Victorian theme. Know anyone? :)

Anyway there are people who like England and I think they have their reasons why they like it. So I just can talk for myself.
