....because we can!

I don't know if it is as simple as that. In this household, there are three women. Only one is shoe crazy and she manages a...shoestore! LOL
-
The same reason men get excited about technical equipment and cars. It's just one of those things.
-
I covet The Almighty Shoe because it is a thing of beauty.

Shoes can make or break an outfit. It pulls it all together. I like them because they last for a long time and because I usually don't follow trends I wear them over along period of time.
-
Not all of us do.

I think it may be evolutionary in some way. A long time ago before there were shoes and handbags some females gathered things to eat while some men went hunting. The women that had adequate coverings for their feet and adequate bags to put the gathered food in could bring back more substantial food for meals, hence a higher rate of survival. So now that has shifted into this strong urge to have lots of shoes and handbags because they once were essential for survival. Note; I won't be surprised if a lot of people think this is a completely loony theory. lol

Incase it rains.

I've been trying to figure that one out myself. My wife has more shoes than Imelda Marcos.

It is aggravating to get dressed and don't have the right shoes or the right color. Thats why when we find a great shoe, We get a couple different colors.
-
You can never have too many shoes you know. As to what the attraction is, I have no idea but they are most appealing.
-
Why? Because shoes compliement their stems, making them appear taller or average hieght at will. Specific shoes enhance the sexy appeal of a womans beauty by enhancing her legs and even making them look longer and more curvaceous. Shoes are also important per social functions, men can put on a pair of tennis shoes and fit in most anywhere, it's not as simple with women as they must stand out more fashionably to enhance their attractiveness. Well this is not the majority rule, but seems to be the consensus.

Nothing like a blanket statement to **** off the rest of us. Some women don't like shoes, you know. And we don't understand why other women do. My dad is one of the few that have to tell me and my sister to get new shoes. In fact, the only reason why I'm bothering to answer this question right now is because my sister has brought it to my attention. Dad says, we should at least get a new pair of shoes each.
-
Because shoes are one of many means of expression through dress. I covet them too, as a guy, because I express my personality through my skirts, pantyhose, and various heels.

I was watching Sex And The City the other day (shut up) and Carrie (I know their names, booya!) made some deep statement about how important shoes are to women and how they never let women down, or make them feel too fat/skinny/short/tall/et cetera, like some clothes can. It seemed deep, but truth be told I was zoning in and out until she made some statement about how men would never understand it.
