The best thing to do is call and find out. Depending on if it's a brand new car or what type of warranty it is it may or may not.

The 99.9% correct answer is "YES". If the dealer decided to be a jerk about it, they might try to establish that you deliberately broke the part in question. However, I would be surprised if this happened. The dealer would rather install the new part (paid for by the manufacturer) and keep the customer happy.
