The Tom Baker (fourth Doctor) series is the funniest and the best to watch.

David Tennant. (10th) Yes, Tom Baker was funny, but he was over the top and clownish. Tennant is legit funny and charismatic. When he's funny, your laughing with him.

Tom Baker had several different stages. I'd definite pick out the first one--the Sarah Jane Smith episodes. similarly, the Sarah Jane episodes with Pertwee are also the best...the show just kind of reached a peak where it was off the wall but completely in control of it at that time. of course both the new ones so far (Eccleston and Tennant) are worth a look!
