The best time to take any protein supplement is within half after your workout. During the two to three hours after your workout your muscles absorb protein and carbohydrates much more easily (especially in the first half hour). Most bodybuilders put far too much emphasis on protein and some actually look on carbs as a bad thing! Protein is very important but so are carbs.
