the 1 4 and 5 chords if your in the key of C major that would be: C,F and G not sure if its a technique but the next thing to do would be to look up wiki how to write a 12 bar blues and find out the order. after that the possiblitys are endless. Try making every chord a 7th, and perhaps change the turnaround at the end to a more jazzblues appraoch. use a 2 5 1 as opposed to the 4 5 1. as far as writing a hook/melody to go over the chords try using the pentatonic scales and use the flat 5 or the sharp 7 to add tension.

i use jazz chords but play them more heavily a basic one line to describe how to make jazz chords is to add a 4th note to a chord that will tend to make it jazzy ooo n if u listen to alot of blues ull soon pick it up without realising i did

I noticed 7th chords are fun to play the blues with.
