It doesn't matter to me! Regardless of if they like it, I will remain a gentleman because it's the way that I am..
-
Hell yes.
-
Can't speak for all women, but I could do without a gentleman. Sounds like a bore! Retrograde gender roles can fuck off.
-
They want their male friends to be gentlemen. They say they want their men to be gentlement. In the end they choose men who ignore them, treat them like shit, and cheat on them
-
Yes.
-
Yes...and no. Many women have a vague and ever-changing boundary about these things. On one side of the boundary, a man is 'being a gentleman'. On the other side, the man is 'being a pushover'. Good luck figuring out where you are at any given moment....:-P.... http://dating.personals.yahoo.com/singles/datingtips/88037/dating-question-can-a-guy-be-too-nice

they're like men, outwardly they want a gentleman.but secretly they want a bad boy just like we want a trashy slutty type.
-
every man should be a gentleman

I think society, primarily American society, is going through a process known as Moral Degradation, where the original morals from which the U.S. was founded upon has been hacked away one wood chip at a time. Which answers the question: In many ways, women might not *care* as to whether a man is being a gentleman or not. This is carefully displayed through observations of things such as abusive relationships, statistics such as an increase in divorce rates, and a slower and slower acceptance towards what would be considered "unacceptable" some 80 years ago, such as when the word "crud" or "ass" used in any form in public entertainment would be immediately called upon and the company would be penalized instantaneously.

Until and unless the gentleman lacks good volume of testosterone.

OFCOURSE

-

-
well I do, I can't speak for the younger generation...they'd probably think a guy being a gentleman was weird...(sad world)
-
Very much so.
-
I like to see an example of the person's quality and that is certainly an important measure.
-
I dont see why not.
-
OMG! I went on a date and a guy helped me take off my jacket and pulled out my chair! I couldn't believe it! A perfect gentleman!
-
Depends entirely on the woman, but I think less and less are looking for a well polite gentleman.
-
Some do,not sure all do. That is one thing about humans. They never all like the same things.
-
AB-SO-LUTELY!
-
Who does not want to have the cake and eat it too?
-
i hope so
-
Yes the better class of women who treat men with more respect like them to be gentlemen. Slutty women don't.
-
Yes! It would be so nice to see guys opening doors and such for their girlfriends! I think chivalry is dead around here! : (
-
No. Women like to be heard saying they want gentlemen.
-
I prefer it over assholes that smack you around and cheat on you... yes!
-
i think so. then why do they go out with them if they aren't a gentleman??? :)
-
I can't speak for all women, but many of us do value gentlemanly behavior! I certainly do!
-
Yes.Some prefer other types also.
-
I can't help it, I'm a gentleman whether it is appreciated or not. That's just who I am!
-
I don't. I want my significant other to behave the way my best friend would. Whoever gets to the door first should open it for the other. I am bothered by overly "gentleman" like behavior such as having my chair pulled out, having somebody order for me, opening the car door, paying for everything etc. I would far prefer the title of kind and considerate human being over a gentleman. I don't need anybody to do anything *for* me, I just want them to do things *with* me.
-
It's not about that frozen attitude, it's about respect. Everyone likes to be respected and careful treated, right? You have the feeling that that person is not a stranger and that he(even she) truly cares for you. So yeah, we go for politeness as long as you show that you're interested in knowing more, and not just showing attitude. I forgot to add that politeness is seen as a romantic attitude. So just by opening the door or taking her jaket and puting it on the chair you do a romantic gesture which will be appreciated.
-
Oh yes! That is something that will never go out of style.
-
Here's my take on that. Young girls tend to go for the "bad boy" type, mature girls looks for a gentleman.
-
Depends on the definition of gentleman. Do I prefer a man to act civilized, instead of like some testosterone-crazed gorilla? Yes. That means tone down his language, speak at a conversational volume, be neat, be clean, be considerate. Do I prefer a man to open doors for me? Not based on gender, but I am mildly disabled and use a cane, so it's nice to have doors opened for me by either a man or a woman. The same would apply to other things such as giving up a seat on the bus. I don't need it just because I'm a woman, but I'd appreciate it based on a diminished ability to stand. And there's no need to rise because I'm entering or leaving a room. That's just silly. Do I prefer a man to look out for me, shield me, take care of me, protect me? Absolutely not. Being a woman does not make me weaker or less able to take care of myself.
-
I can only speak for myself, but I love gentlemen - would not consider dating somebody who wasn't. Chivalry is not yet dead, thank goodness =)
-
Of course, especially if they're gentlemen with everyone.
-
I LOVE a gentleman. My hubby will RUN for the door of the truck if I so much as look at the handle (and he always gets a kiss for it)
-
YES!! Not suffocatingly so, but otherwise yes. I'm so tired of men who only want one thing. (I of course, tell them no, because if they don't love me without it, they don't deserve me with it)
-
Of course they SAY that they do, but that is complete BS until they are on their way down the hill. On the way up the hill they apparently like rude and obnoxious dicks. excuse the language please, ima alil bit PO'd
