  • They do it by bending the light so that its focal point is on your retina rather than in front or behind the retina.
  • normally the cornea and the lens of your eye bend (refract) light onto your retina to create a clear picture. some peoples eye surfaces refract the light to a point a bit ahead of the retina so they can only see things close and blurrier further away, and for others the point that the light is refracted to is slightly behind the retina so they have clearer images further away but a hard time seeing close up. the lens of the glasses helps correct the refraction of the light so that it hits the retina exactly.
