you have the right to go to jail if you hit your kids these days. We wonder why society is crazy these days.. We cant even hit our own damned kids anymore!

Not a parent, but why must we ask such a question? obviously there is a problem... is it that children have more rights? or is it that the parents have no control over their boundaries that there need to be laws in place in order to give them "rights"? and What rights are we really talking about here? (not a parent) I take it you are talking about punishing your children and in turn being reprimanded by that society that frowns upon strict discipline. There is an issue here, but answerbag is not the answer

Sure. You do have rights. For example, based on your religious beliefs you can, in some jurisdictions, actually get away with murdering your child by denying him or her effective medical treatment if they get sick. Happy now?
