While there are many great buildings that pushed the limits of their current design standards, my favorite landmark building would have to be the Biltmore Estate in N.C. Not just for the size and scope of the building but for everything it represents. The Family, the romance, the society that politely tried to one up their contemporaries. The techniques used in building these structures, the craftsmanship that cannot be reproduced today. The advancements for the times. The fact that for over 100 years with all the wealth and technology no one has even come close to matching this estate...
