The Praying Mantis (more accurately, "Preying") is a natural enemy of the mosquito, so why aren't more of them placed in areas near lakes, where mosquitoes are known to congregate, as an ecologically safe way to eliminate them?

Have you checked the statistics? They are a cash crop, and do the job exactly as you have described. It is a very lucrative business, especially with so many people being laid off company jobs.

Wouldn't it disrupt the eco system if they were "Placed" in areas. I would think that the bugs live where they thrive.

That's a cool video. I heard somewhere that Preying Mantises are endangered. Mosquitos are the one thing I am allergic to. I'm a big fan of bats, Preying Mantises, and Mosquito Eaters.

Dragon Fly larva get the mosquitoes before the hit the air while they are still in the natal ponds. BT is cheaper than either, and the most used by government management bodies. But it is hard on the dragonflies.
