  • As often as the couple allows it. Your first obligation is to your spouse: to defend him/her, to prefer to spend time with him/her etc, etc. If one allows his/her family to interfere, then they are as much to blame as the "outsiders" to the marriage.
  • less often that relative poverty (relative meaning unable to afford to live in society, not the fake poverty level which is set at roughly half the cost of living)
  • I'm not sure how often they succeed, but they sure do try hard.
  • Its more common then you think. But remember, man must cleave unto his wife. Usually its the husbands mom, that gets involved. Only cuz she wants her son to have better, and doesnt realize hes already happy...and she should let him be happy. Other times its the wives mother, becuase she influences the wife on her decisions to much. Remember folks, WE ARE THE ADULTS, we can make our own decisions...and WE can make the right ones for OUR OWN family. Your marriage isnt the same as your parents. So the parents should have NO SAY on anything.
  • They say look at your mother-in-law before you marry cos your wife/husband will end up like them. Some are actually very lovely people!
