i loved return of the jedi and that was probably my fav.

Like most fans, they are part of "Star Wars", but since they suck they are not closely associated with the first three. In my mind, the "Star Wars" trilogy ended with Jedi and the second trilogy is something else.
-
Jedi was by far the best of the original three. I cannot consider something as terrible as the newest three "Star Wars" part of the episodes. That was Lucas being greedy.
-
I think that the first episode is not good and is more like a film for kids. I really hate the second one as Anakin isn't sure if he 'should' be evil or good. The third episode, is I think the best one from the new episodes, but the episodes 4 to 6 are still the best and just classics.

I have to say, I like ep. 3, but It just doesn't fit. Especially in the way it was done, starting with 4 and ending with 3... If it was done in the way that it had progressed starting with 1 and goign to 6 I think I would be more accepting of 1-3. Plus, I think they really had to try to fit things in so that it goes with the story line. They had to jam little extras in there to have the story make sense.

I luv them,I actually like them better than 4-6.I think that most peole dont accept them because they were'nt made first, but remember Mr lucas did that for a reason. It went something like this- Mr Lucas originally wanted to make the 9 parts one movie(yes 9!).however the producers didnt agree,it would have to be over 16 hours long!,no one would watch it,so they told him to choose a place to start from and they'll make three seperate movies at a time.He decided to start at A New Hope because 1)-he thought it was an interesting place to start and 2)-that particular trilogy recuired less special effects than the other 2 and they could not pull it off if they decided to start from 1-3 because of the type of technology they had in those days.(they would have to do the podracing in episode I,clones in episode II,obi riding that lizard thing in revenge of the sith, yoda fighting those sith lords, not to mention general grevious etc and stuff like that)Mr Lucas Knew that he would have access to better technology for the special effects in about 20years or so,thats why he did episodes 4-6 first and the rest later.Episodes 7,8 and 9 wil happen in about 20 years or so.

yes i think it was extremly important to know about anakin and obi wan when they were both learners and jedi. It is also important to learn about the jedi and the republic and how anakin became darth vader is th most important thing

I enjoyed these movies, and was glad they were made, whatever fans might think about it. They were entertaining and filled us in with parts of the story in the saga I was curious about, I really ask for nothing more than entertainment out of my movies. I feel they do count as Star Wars movies, yes.

I didn't mind parts 2 & 3 although they didn't measure up to 4-6. Part 1 was simply a horrible movie though. Lucas wasted one of the best characters in the Star Wars movies by killing off Darth Maul so quickly & frankly he should receive a damn good beating for inventing Ja-Ja Binks. I think 'A New Hope' was by far the best of the movies, although I do also quite like the Clone Wars CGI cartoons.

Personally the new Star Wars movies have nothing on the old ones. The CGI is good but other than that they are mediocre.
-
Luke, use the force
-
They count, just like the next ones count,7,8,9.They've all been written, since before,4 was even filmed in the 70's.
-
They were generally good, but there were some details I didn't like - such as Jar Jar Binks and the fact that C3PO was built by Darth Vader.
-
I actualy liked 1-3 more than 4-6.

I think the story lines grew one dimensional and the guy that played the young version of my man Darth was too wimpy and whiny. What a whiner and a terrible actor. The whole love thing was so Shakespearian over dramatic comedy. The fight scenes with that old dude was terrible and there was just too much CGI. Yeah I know Luke was a whiny kid too but the new kid out did him. It was obvious she took after mom and Luke too after Darth. Too much soap opera in my space opera. The whole thing could have been better, all of them. I think too much of George Lucas fantasies and not enough good old Hollywood movie making. The same goes for a lot of Spielberg's later stuff.

I think they are all good movies but the magic that was there is simply missing (although the last half of episode 3 had some).

As far as I'm concerned, it ended with Return of the Jedi. I still remember when the first trilogy came out; the special effects were awesome for the time, and the movies actually had some character development. (OK, it wasn't fantastic character development, but it was still there, as opposed to some other period science fiction.) The second trilogy seemed to throw that out the window. It had the feeling of, "Oooh... CGI... let's see what else can we do!" I didn't like the remastered version of the original trilogy, either.
