In Shakespearean dramas the acts follow a pattern: intro, development, crisis, climax and dénouement, as I recall fom high school. Do the comedies also follow a pattern?

That's the correct pattern for ANY good literature - play, short story, novel. . .doesn't matter what genre. So, yes, they follow that as well.
