Well, dogs lick their crotches, the floor and all sorts of disgusting places full of bacteria. It is best to keep their tongue away from your face.

Because their mouths are full of germs (I know humans have germs too!) and they lick their bums. You don't know where a dog puts its mouth. I couldn't bare a tongue on my face that had just been used to eat Pedigree Chum (dead horses etc) and then slobbered all over my face. It's just revolting.

They lick their own butts They eat dog food, dirt, and bugs Their breath usually stinks I love that old argument that people like to use... You know the one! A dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's mouth! Well, a human's mouth IS pretty dirty, but at least we don't eat our own excrement (most of us, anyways).

I'm assuming because for the most part they have no problem also licking the sidewalk, the toilet, and their own butt! :)
