  • because many pain meds are highly addictive, and have long term negative effects on your insides like your liver, kidney, heart, and digestive system. even though they are used to kill pain.
  • Totally agree with the last part of your question! They ruin it for others because they miss use the medication. +5
  • Pain meds don't work on chronic pain. What do you want that you think will work? Pain meds suck mostly and are addictive to boot. I have not heard of any pain cure all's. I've been in lots of pain in my life periodically and crap like vicodin and the like never helped me. Maybe a nice tuinol. Remember those? Never seen one in a long time. But all that "nice" stuff only works for a few days and then you have to take the whole damned bottle to get any relief and then you get to detox. That's why.
  • yes users hurt others.
  • well this is your third visit...... says here that you are still suicidal because you like pain killers.......... I think we need to monitor your addiction while your life crumbles at our profit! sick sick sick
  • I Know they make it hard on people who have to some how find a way to have some sence of a life! Its NOT fair for me to have to try to find a understanding DR who has been "burnt by abusers"..When no DR will accept patients who suffer with chronic pain! It was hard to find one in my town but I finally did. And I dont abuse them or him!!
  • Yes, I think the abusers make it hard for the others
  • Because of a very rare medical condition that there are no treatments for, I'm wearing a fentanyl patch. People who are in cronic pain don't 'get high' on these meds. They get relief. I don't know what it feels like to get high. From what I understand, it's a behavior that I've never shown. I also have severe migraine that send me to the ER for meds. I can not begin to tell the horror stories I've experienced because you can't see my pain, like a broken arm. I've taken a lot of abuse from Drs and RNs. In the end, because I was there so frequently, my own family Dr. left instructions with the ER staff & my treatment improved. I've also had the misfortune to visit the ER right after a girl came in faking a migraine. We're talking a real nightmare for me. I waited 8 hours. These are the reasons that real pain patients aren't believed. My advise is, find a really good pain-specialist. We just need to keep fighting the system. This is just one more way that gov. has not considered the difference between real need and abusers.
