Actually, I think my job is the greatest in the world,,, I had to work into it and it took about 40 years, but I worked hard at all my jobs, saved every penny I could, made a few good investments, owned a small trucking company for a while, and retired at 52. Now my job is to keep oprystar happy and keep the seat here in front of the computer warm. And I have to go blow the dust out my hemi occasionally. I really love it when my job requires me to go fishing or play a round of golf. Sometimes I have to get on my John Deere 1100 and mow the lawn, but I can take my time, I dont have to do it in one after noon if I dont want to. My job has sent me to Las Vegas to gamble a couple of times, and to Shreveport, LA, once or twice. This summer I plan to volunteer to take the trip to Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas as part of my job. Sometimes I have to entertain my grand kids. I really like that part of my job. I hope you can get a job like this someday... If you work hard and save your money you can. Well, guess I had better get my things together, tomorrow I am going up to Oklahoma to purchase another hotrod. This job just never ends. BTW, here is a picture of a rod that is almost like the one I am picking up,, I dont have a picture of it yet. Its a 1948 Buick, mine isnt quite that nice, yet.

Being an advocate for our Veterans with a focus on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...it's the most rewarding thing I've ever done. You not only help these heroes find hope of a normal life, but can guide the way for them and their families to survive with some sense of dignity

    Owner of the GD Universe

    Mine...

It is a universally accepted fact that no one can live long enough to see and experience everything that happened in the distant past and still be lucky enough to witness the events that will unfold in the future. This thought makes me feel lucky that I am a teacher. Being one allows me to have a keyhole that looks straight into history and a window that allows me to reach through and touch the future.

Yup! I know I'm still far from being immortal. But I know that everything that I do now can have somehow lingering effect on the future: maybe not on a universal level, but at least on the few lives I’ve bumped into. I sincerely hope that what I am doing now can create tiny ripples that will someday combine with other ripples that others has created and form a wave that is big enough to move a mountain. To borrow a line from the great philosopher of education, John Dewey, the purpose of education is growth — the purpose of growth is more growth.

There is very little new knowledge in the world today. A great deal of the basic information that we need in order to survive in this planet are age-old, time tested ideas that were handed down through the generations. Somewhere back in time, a spark was kindled. My job is to catch that beam that shines through time and redirect that into the minds of today’s learners. That's what I do. I teach. I touch the future.

    Being a MOM.

Any women out there left for this job? To society's dismay...or maybe just my dismay :)... I've noticed that many women who have careers think that being a housewife is not as worthy. I don't have a career yet (I'm still in grad. school and working hard to finish it), but this seems to be a very prevalent idea amongst women today. Not that I'm bashing that - career-women are also worthy of much respect from me. :)

I think traveling and writing about your adventures would be the best job, especially if someone else was paying the expenses. Or living in a wilderness area and writing about your daily life.

I don't think there is any "coolest job in the world" because it varies for each person. to me i think the coolest job (and the job i want to have) is the job of an actress.
