  • Ahh one of those question where if you say you support the platform you will get jumped and if you say tradition you will get jumped. I say huh, I grew up being raised on my parents ss and disability, while Reagan was in office. That could be it.
  • I am a registered Democrat, yes. I sometimes disagree with the party platform, but living in Massachusetts as heavily Democratic as it is, registering any other way leaves me out of too much that matters to my state. :)
  • Because Republicans are anti-working class. Since I have to work for a living, it'd be foolish for me to support someone who thinks working class folks are the enemy.
  • I'm not. I'm an Independent. I don't want to be polarized. It also gives me the freedom to choose without being confined to one party. I don't want to be anyone's number.
  • I'm not a Democrat, I'm also not a Republican, I'm not associated with any party and haven't sold or rented my soul to any political party, government of religious cult. Doing so would be prostituting my soul!
  • I am a Democrat because I believe in the equality of all people, regardless of their race. faith or gender.
  • I am a Democrat because I believe in the separation of church and state. We must stop the religious extremists who want school-sanctioned prayers. Now, you tell me - with all that chanting and praying and incense-burning going on, how can our kids concentrate on the big condom-and-banana midterm?
  • I am a registered Democrat Because I recognize that education is important, extremely important. We must increase spending on education and enact important education reforms, such as eliminating standardized tests. Because we can never hope to measure this beautiful, elusive, important thing we call education.
  • I was born a Democrat. I believe in a free society, in the civil liberties built into the United States Constitution, I believe in honesty, both by private persons, private enterprise and by Government, and I believe our civil liberties are something precious, not simply an abstraction.
  • I am neither a Democrat or a Republican. I'm actually somewhere in the middle... most of the time. However, I could never be a true Republican because I believe that everyone (in the USA and the world) should have the same basic rights and opportunities. I believe that big business cares only about profits, and not about people. I believe that Republicans allow greed and corruption to run rampant, and silently support it, at least as long as it helps them achieve their own personal or religious goals. If the Republicans had their way, the mega-corporations which are constantly trying to control the country would only get bigger and more callous and the rich would just keep getting richer. Also, being an atheist, I know that allowing religion to control or mix with government stunts democracy and stops any real forward progress from being made.
