  • Not been to London in a while then Chubbychaser? =) As much as goths may (I don't know that all do, but the ones I have known at least) like to think they are being different or original - it is a fashion statement as much as a lifestyle. Fashions and trends change. I find it hard to believe that gothic music has died out, but if so, that could be a reason too.
  • Last time I was in England it was punk. And I can't ever go back.
  • When the leading edge of a fashion wave starts getting close to middle age, all of a sudden it isn't cool anymore. No rebellious kid wants to be associated with a thirty year old, it just isn't cool. When the hippies started to turn thirty, all of a sudden preppie was cool. When preppies started to turn thirty, all of a sudden punk was cool. Everywhere you turned you saw violent pink and purple and blue Mohawks, stiff with gel. Then the punks started to turn thirty and we got Gangsta's and thugs. It seems like the Goth's ran concurrent with the thugs. But now they are starting to turn thirty and no kid wants to look like them anymore.
  • It's another fad for the kids to emulate. Eventually you'll only see the diehards doing it.
