What type of gift Should I give at my sister in law's baby shower (first child/neice/nephew) Should it be a large gift or a small gift?

I would say not too small, since you are family something a little extra special would be nice. I really like an idea I saw at a baby shower not too long ago. Someone got the mommy to be a baby tub and filled it with all kinds of baby gifts. It was really cute. Also the little seats that parents can put their babies in while they work are really nice. I have no idea how much these costs, so forgive me if I'm being over the top, but baby swings are great for new parents!

I just came across this question, and this particular shower is probably over. However, for future baby showers, you cannot go wrong with a gift certificate to a store that sells newborn and infant clothing, toys and other items. That way you don't have to worry about sizes, duplicates, etc. Just let the family pick out what the baby really needs the most!
