There are three possible combinations: (i) two men, (ii) a man and a woman, (iii) two women. Two men, I suppose, can be nauseating. I've never seen the act, and don't wish to either. A man and a woman is normal, and if you're already sexually experienced, it can become a bit of a bore. Two women, on the other hand is a novelty. Which makes it more "exciting" (sexually) for the man. I have seen films (which also show quite close-up views) of normal as well as lesbian sex, and I have found the latter more titillating. No doubt an overdose of this can be boring too. That's because the novelty eventually wears off. I notice you have mentioned love in your comments to other answers. Love and lust are two different things. To begin with, they reveal themselves in different ways in different parts of the anatomy, for men as well as women. I don't think a connection between them is relevant in the context of this particular question.
