I have a "leave in conditioner" spary and I can use that. (you use that on your wet hair after you are out of the shower) Or I use conditioner in the shower. I have real long hair and have to use one or the other. Get into the wind and my hair is a tangled mess. +5

Comb through wet hair after you put the shampoo in it, be careful for breakage. Then comb again once you towel dry the hair.

No more tears leave in conditioner. I used for my daughter.

i straighten my hair - it makes it easy to brush the tangles out with a little water. curls tend to tangle up really easily.

If we are talking about human hair, start at the bottom and work your way up combing out slowly and evenly not pulling, not the other way around. Also hair condition really helps after your shampoo.

honestly its not by combing it (if its a big snarl)...the key is!!!...take that part of your hair, and twirl it and smooth it out....or spin it around...like into a dread (i guess that is how you would explain it) but then smooth it with your hands...it will come out naturally without all the pulling...and stuff, splitting and breaking your hair...

I condition and brush in the shower.

Conditioner, wide tooth comb, start at ends, take your time, section by section, trust me, i have unruly long hair!!

I guess that would depend on whether you were talking about normal tangles or dreadlocks. I think you've been given some great ideas here. If mine were tangled badly enough to be considering scissors, I might try what we do with horse when they have tangles and burrs: Show Sheen and a hoof pick or knife. With the horses, we usually soak their manes and tails with Show Sheen and work it in. Then we take either a hoof pick or a knife and cut through the tangles in the direction the hair grows, not across it. The object is to either tease the tangle apart, or to cut only those hairs that are wound around and across the tangle, not all of them. You can usually tease the major lumps apart pretty quickly, then switch to a comb to work the rest of it out. You can always wash it to get the Show Sheen out after you've detangled it.

I wash mine in beer and egg when it is tangled up. it always removes the tangles. I then wash and condition. Maybe it is worth a shot. Personal Note Wanbli ------- I am collecting for that new toy drive. I tried to call you at home but it says no service let me know something alright?

I use a comb with wide teeth. I also detangle when my hair is wet.

Before you shower, brush your hair. After you get out of the shower, apply leave-in conditioner. It works well and you don't have to enjoy the gooey, hair-flattening properties of regular conditioner.
