I have a laptop conected to a printer with a printer driver. when the printer driver is in use i cannot open any word documents, yet when i turn the printer driver off i am able to open word documents. What can i do?

Try another program that can read/write Word documents. I often use Jarte, though I sometimes use OpenOffice.

1. Go to the website of your printer maker and see if they have an updated driver. 2. Check to see that you have all the latest Word updates. Start - Control Panel - Windows Update.
