  • Ambiguous ending...
  • Best question all month, best movie ever! OK, in the movie, I believe it was made like that so we could think that the guy is questioning himself and also wondering if he did it at all, or if he did some of it but not all of it. (Also probably to appease the lame-assed, mamby-pamby audience that kept crying out "misogyny!) You have to read the book. (It's pretty graphic; I can handle graphic, but there were some chapters where I had to put it down and try to erase the visual from my head). It's a different ending but the book gives allusions to the fact that he may have done it all. +4
  • The conception of him being to blame is a moot point, society as whole needed the violence and he became its champion and in return he is given anonymity, much like a masked executioner carrying out judgement on the condemned. If he hadn't done it then someone else would. Brent Easton Ellis shows characters that are trying to be individuals but always succum to our basest human natures. As our protagonist shows disdain over a business card that differs from the rest, this displays the contempt normal society has for those who try to seperate themselves from it. Andrew Bateman is confused for a colleague and given an alibi because society doesn't differentiate him from the rest, all they see is a suit and in the light of day he is "normal" thus becoming immune to justice. Sorry got to return some videos.
  • I wouldn't bother, its a terrible film. The book, however, is amazing. Why do they make crap films from great books?
  • i will have to see it again.
  • are you kidding me? yes, he killed every single person. i can't believe you're even questioning it. its called american psycho because the guy mentally cracks under the pressure of being so gosh darned "normal", and to break the monotony of fitting in and being better than the next guy (picking out business cards made of 25% linen?that'd drive anyone crazy), he starts butchering up random bitches in his free time. thats the psycho part. duh. i can't believe you question it. no, it wasn't all in his head. he just happened to be rich enough to cover it up. he bought new carpets, had the whole entire apartment redone from scratch. in case you forgot, at the very begining of the movie, it had already been established how meticulous and obsessive compulsive he was, as well as his efficiency in the work place....the psycho part happened later, and he still carried over these same traits, along with his sexiness and charm, which is how he got the women in the first place. oh my goodness.....just watch the movie again. and for anyone who says this movie sucked, you obviously never rented part 2 starring mila kunis.
