  • A friend of mine did it like this: "The way I pierced mine was using a safety pin. Then i left it in for about 2 weeks until the skin stretched, then replaced the pin with a ring. At first you should use a 12 g or smaller. There is no way for it not to get infected. It always will, but if you put peroxide on it at least a couple times a day it will slowly become uninfected." So, you probably could just get a needle or pin and just get busy with it, but I really wouldn't advise it. A piercing can cause nerve damage if the jewelry is positioned improperly, and communicable diseases may spread during the procedure if performed with unsterilized equipment. It's probably not the answer you are looking for, but it really is best if it's done by a pro. Consult a licensed or well-apprenticed piercer for advice on whether your belly button will accommodate a piercing. He or she will decide how well your tissue will hold a ring in place. Confirm that your chosen piercer works with sterilized equipment and disposable hollow needles and that he or she wears new latex gloves for each client, offers only piercing-quality jewelry and is accessible post-treatment should you have any questions or concerns. Schedule your appointment when your calendar is clear of any strenuous or even moderately physical activities. Yoga, dancing and most sports may be out of the question for a few weeks following your piercing. Wear loose-fitting clothes to your piercing appointment. Opt for low-slung pants or skirts and tunic or wide-belly tops - anything that will not rub or pull around your belly button. Remain focused on your breath and fix your gaze on a stationary point during the procedure. This will keep your muscles relaxed and help minimize any discomfort. Take care to follow your piercer's aftercare instructions to the letter.
  • I say DO NOT even take that risk, GET IT DONE PROFESSIONALLY! that is the best opition anyone whos smart would say the same thing so DO NOT do it yourself. unless you have the RIGHT equipment, and a safety pin is NOT one of them.
  • What you Need: 1. A sterilized 14 to 16Ga Piercing needle. 2. Belly Ring 3. Neosporin 4 Cotton Balls 5. Gloves 6. Q-tips Use a cotton ball to clean the area with alcohol. Hold the flap of skin you want pierced. Press the piercing needle through the skin clear through to the other side.(Dont slant it just take it staight through.) With the needle still piercing the skin, put the belly ring through the hole behind the needle as you remove the needle. Once the needle is out attatch the ball to the belly ring. Then use a q-tip to put Neosporin on both sides of the piercing. Healing Time: It takes around 3-6 months to heal. For some it takes 12 months or more to heal. It depends on how well you take care of it. CLEAN TWICE A DAY UNTIL ITS HEALD 1. Wash your hands before you clean it. Dont touch it other than to clean it. 3. Clean it with antibactirial soap like Dial or Soft soap. 5. Pat it dry with cotton or q-tips. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL TO CLEAN!!! It dries the skin out.
  • DO NOT..I repeat..DO not do that as a do it yourself home project...tooo many problems can occur...:)
