  • Money Talks
  • he never lied about it he fessed up and we respect that because we all make mistakes! how his s/o let him get away with it that i will never know
  • Because he admitted it and made fun of himself about it instead of lying, denying and acting as if he was above it.
  • He has a career?
  • He pretty much admitted it, and kind of brushed it off. Not to mention he's quite charming and sexy ;)
  • It is very rare when a sex scandal destroys someone's career. he's not the only prominent artist to go on with his career just fine. The only time scandal seems to "destroy a career" is when that artist is already on the way down. Rob Lowe got busted sodomizing a 15 year old on tape and got a slap on a wrist and it is rarely mentioned. Kelsey Gramer got busted in a hotel with a bunch of drugs and having sex with an underage girl and it did not really effect his career one bit. Michael Jackson's sex scandals did not really begin to hurt him until he started making god awful records. That one director won an academy award despite an outstanding arrest warrant for statutory rape. America is very forgiving of sex crimes, particularly if it is heterosexual sex.
  • um, he didn't when's the last time hugh grant did anything even vaguely successful at the box office? the guy is a has-been
  • Because it made him more human to many people ( in fact men started to rent his movies more) and because he never lied about it and made no excuses. It did hurt his career to some extent; he took a three-year hiatus until "Notting Hill" that made him bankable again. And it all started his difficult relation with the (very) invasive media that at times has made his life a complete hell. As for his career this is an actor that shared the best actor Volpi award with James Wilby at Venice Film Festival in 1987. Then FWAF came in 1994 and he started to be type-casted in romantic comedies.
