  • no, sexisem is discrimination ... like racisem. it has no biological connection. it depends on the way you were raised.
  • Undoubtedly. Given our sexual dimorphism (men are larger & more muscular), our cognitive / emotional / behavioral differences that appear to be inherited rather than learned, plus differences in reproductive & child-rearing roles (females couldn't, say, join the hunt while pregnant or with an infant) there is no denying a lack of symmetry or parity between men & women. The roots of sexism are in our primitive, prehistoric past. All of recorded history supports the dominance of men over women -- sexism in its most blatant form. Many organized religions further reinforce sexism as a cultural norm. So the answer is yes. Most present-day western secular societies value civil rights and legal equality between the sexes & increasing intolerance of sexist behavior by either sex. Like other undesirable biologic behavior (aggression, tribalism, etc), how people behave as adults depends on how they are raised as children. Education versus biology.
