  • To me the remembrance of past wars gives us a false reason to believe that wars are a good and necessary thing.I find there is no glory in war,and when war happens there is devastation and death.Honorable people are the ones that find ways around wars, and discuss with diplomacy. It is true that soldiers have to fight in wars, for it is their duty to do so,and have no choice. They should be honoured though the wars they fought in should not be honoured.
  • A remembrance of an event, such as a war, is not honouring that event. However, the sacrifices and efforts of the military people, as well as the civilian populations, are worthy of recognition and honour. To adequately honour the participants, the war itself must be remembered. There should be no time limit for such remembrances.
  • ALways, as long as that civilization is in existence.
  • Well, my Great, Great, Great........etc, Grandaddy died at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 AD and I really miss him. :o)
  • Although Rememberance Day (UK) is a tribute to all of those that lost thier lives during WWI and WWII, it also remembers those who have lost lives in all wars since. There will never be a time to stop honouring those who have died in battle as there will never be a time without war
  • At least as long as there is anyone left suffering the consequences of the death and maiming of the warriors. As far as honourable people are concerned, I guess as long as their example is a useful one to the society.
