A true friend is someone who is there for you when no one else is

will listen to you vent for hours when you are hurting, they love you like you are without asking you to change..a TRUE friend is also a rare thing and very hard to find

Someone who would never say bad about you behind your back, and also puts a stop to it if someone else does. They also will tell you the truth, even when it's difficult to do so, but they tell you because the truth will help you. You know you can tell them anything and it won't go further than the deepest part of their heart. And, you have that knowing inside that they will never leave you no matter what you've done or may do--that is where the 'true' comes in again. Sometimes even a true friend though needs some time apart. It's the way it is in real friendships. Kinda like marriage. Being committed to someone and loving them deeply doesn't mean one never needs their private space (not talking about a separation but rather doing somethings apart from one another) from time to time, and comes back refreshed and always, always true:)
