  • He's been asleep while you were gone. He sees you come in and gets so excited to see you that he forgets to pee before he comes in. Then in his excitement, he loses control on the floor. To avoid this, either go outside and greet him in the yard, or wait five minutes before letting him in. That way he'll remember to pee before he comes in.
  • You are presenting the lessons in Potty training ALMOST perfectly. You just need to fine tune it a little bit! Shoot me an email (my addy is on my profile here) and I'll send you an attachment of Potty 101, the fun, positive way to House Train any puppy or dog. Part of it is his joy at seeing you come home; and part of it maybe that he hasn't yet made the connection 100% that ALL potty needs to be outside! Always ASK HIM to go potty, when you take him out (good on you, some folks make the mistake of just letting their pup or dog out)...you being with him is a big part of the training...BECAUSE....after he goes potty (outside) you need to "throw him a PARTY!" It sounds like he is going to be a dynamic and wonderful dog! Bravo! Remember, the more you can support him doing the correct behaviors, the faster he will learn what you want, and then turn them into GOOD HABITS!
