The problem is that some Christians take the Biblical account of creation literally. So, they believe that Earth—and, by extension, the universe—was created in six 24 hour periods approximately 6,000 years ago. So, any theory that goes against this view of the universe is unbiblical and, therefore, anti-Christian. I don't agree with them on this, but that is what they believe.

In my perspective, religious beliefs are so tightenly screwed into our psychi, that the FEAR, or PAIN, brought to us by another theory would put in danger everything that has been taught since childhood... or even Burn in the Eternal Flames!!! LOL Im sorry, I dont mean to laugh at it, its just amazing how controlled a person may become by religion. FREE THE PEOPLE!! SCATTER THE HERD!!! ;p

Because it doesn't mention God. But some people who belive in God say it was God who kicked off the Big Bang, combining religion and science.

Actually, the opposite is the case. "In the BEGINNING, God created the heavens. . ." Long before we heard of the BB, the Bible spoke of a beginning.
