I am not for sure the name of the surgeries ; BUT there ARE surgeries that can reconstruct the inner ear etc so you CAN hear again .... My 17 year old nephew will be having surgery on June 6th for a similar condition to his ear ... He will be laid up for two weeks after the surgery; BUT a small price to pay for the miracle of being able to hear again . Good Luck to YOU .

Hi Young1. I am sorry to hear of your ailment but there IS hope! Medicine has advanced so much and doctors can do some pretty incredible things. I have heard from a friend of mine who is a med student that there is a surgery where they remove some tiny bones from your wrist to replace your inner ear bones, restoring some hearing. My advice would be to do research in up-to-date medical journals and email doctors with articles that you find interesting. Many libraries (such as the Martin Luther King Lib. of San Jose, CA) have free online databases. Another possibility is doing a net search on active studies doctors are conducting. I had a medical ailment and by luck stumbled across an ongoing study that offered free corrective surgery. These carry a risk in that they are research, not necessarily tried and true methods, but in my case it was a blessing. Hope this was helpful; sorry I could not provide much in the ways of specifics. Best of luck to you.
