As part of the credit card reform bill, an amendment to relax a ban on bringing loaded guns into National Parks also passed. Should guns be allowed in National Parks for states that might allow it?

It would be handy if a Park Ranger found a bear in the process of mauling a guest. :) The Police should be allowed also. And, those with concealed carry permits should also be allowed. Why make it difficult beyond reason?? What is going to happen there that makes guns forbidden? Criminal conventions????

This is another example of the abuse of the legislative process. To graft this provision onto an unrelated bill is not right. But this is done all the time in Congress. Guns in parks? I don't care either way. But why not vote on it as a separate measure or at least as an amendment to related legislation, such as gun laws or National Park laws.

Well I would rather have one and not need it than to need it and not have it, and it makes no sence that only Government Employee's and Criminals carry guns at all I find one to be just as dangerous and intrusive as the other as a matter of fact we see little difference between the two both seem to be bound and determined to make life as dangerous a possible for the common citizen because there both after the same thing and I find no reason to make me out to be a criminal just for having and excersizing my rights because some dumb ass made a law to infringe and interfere with those rights seems ludicris in the first place ... ~Nemo~

Of course firearms should be allowed in National Parks. The local laws should prevail, this will allow them to however not till next February.

Hell yes, it should be allowed. My reason is, normal citizens and campers don't have to worry about the guns brought in by licensed carriers, its the unlicensed ones you have to worry about. And in the event one of these bad guys with a gun try something, the average citizen can protect himself and he‘s family. Its the bad guys who've been bringing guns in anyway, and sometime they kill law abiding citizens who cannot adequately protect themselves. Criminals will think twice and won’t’ be so quick to commit a criminal act. on people
