yes. but the reason is because GOD TOLD HIM TOO...it was just another way of PROVING GOD'S Glory/ Divinity.... they left Egypt and went to kadesh...in their 40 yrs of wandering ,it was mainly in circles...they ended up at kadesh alot, as a matter of fact, Miriam died in kadesh...God did not allow them in Canaan/the promised land , til all the generation of "stiffnecked", the bonded generation , were purged and then the rest had died off...the only two that were of that generation, the free, was Joshua and Caleb... but again, Moses Obeyed God's Will...the "parting" had a reason and the reason was HIS AWESOME POWER AND GLORY..:)justme

moses actually led the entire nation of israel out of egypt, not just the tribe of judah. Jehovah God also, wanted to show stubborn pharoah who exactly he was dealing with. on more than one occasion he had made the very boisterous and defiant remark: "who is Jehovah that i should listen to his voice"? it finally cost him his life as well as the life of his entire militry force, when he challenged Jehovah at the red sea.

He wasn't leading them into Egypt. He was leading them away from there. Remember, they wandered for many years in the desert before finally being allowed the promised land (milk and honey and all that). They lost faith, built and worshipped Ba'al and that kind of thing. It was a real pisser for God, so he delayed the promised land for a long time.
