Perhaps a picture would help. But can't you screw them off, put on a glove, and unclog it? Perhaps you'll need to use a plumbing snake or a coat hanger to get further down. Sounds like you're going to need to get dirty. :)

Yes, there is. You can go down to your local hardware rental store and rent what the plumbers call a "snake." This is a long flexible cable that "tunnels" down thru the drain and breaks up whatever is clogging the drain. It should rent for about $25/day and would save you a bundle as opposed to a plumber.
