  • Depends on what kind of photography you do, and it is hard to determine what camera is "best" for anything. Depends on who you are, for example, a Holga is best for me for taking snapshots, but my Finepix s9000 is best for more formal photography. What type of photography do you do, and I may be able to answer this question for you better.
  • If you want to take up photography seriously, get a digital SLR. For your ordinary holiday and family snaps, get a decent one which is small enough to fit in your pocket, which doesn't take a long time to switch on and extend the lens, and which has a high resolution. Ignore the "digital zoom", only take the optical zoom into consideration. Finally, you can buy an inexpensive camera of any make on eBay. Personally, I already had a good Minolta film camera and lots of lenses, so I bought a digital camera body which fits the same lenses off eBay.
  • I wouldn't mind owning a Hasselblad H3Dll-50. I think it would suit all my needs just fine. Or maybe a Mamiya ZDb Digital Back. But I've got a Nikon D60, which'll have to do until I win the lottery to be able to afford the Hasselblad or Mamiya.
