Question

Help answer this question below.

In most parts of Australia, the age of consent is 16 y/o. Why, when 16 y/o's can have sex, they still cannot see 'R' rated movies or porno dvd's, yet can do the same things in reality?

well...i think it's because you cant stop someone having sex at 16 but putting an age on porno films it leaves something for the adults at least that can be stoppped...tried to explain lol

Maybe because they feel like teenagers don't need to be exposed to the kind of messages in porn films. Sex is one thing, but porn has all kinds of other psychological elements. It's one thing for a teen to have sex. Its another for a teen to get into dangerous or unusual fetishes for example. In reality, it's not as if you can stop kids from doing those things, either.

Because if it were legal, it would then open up the question as to whether 16 year-olds are allowed to act in porn films, and that would make a lot of people very nervous throughout society.
