Guys, do prefer to wear boxers or go commando under board shorts?

it depends; if they have the liner then no boxers. but if they don't, then i would probably wear them.

Ive worn boxers under them but briefs are better for me. If im swimming then nothing because the underwear doesnt dry. I try to get the ones with the liner for swimming now.

Boardshorts aren't meant to have anything worn underneath. You can, but its not necessary.

I never usually go swimming, but boardshorts are very comfortable to wear in the hotter summer months. Swimming trunks, the shorts that usually have an inner netting, are meant to be worn without underwear. I have a couple made of swishy nylon and I cut out the netting because they feel way better when there is direct skin contact with the material. The only problem is that they are soo short, whenever you sit down in them you have to worry about your privates flopping out. Boardshorts, which are usually made of silky polyester and have the tie and velcro front, are also very nice to wear without underwear.
