It's really not the profession itself, it's the "bad apples" in a profession that makes me distrustful of it. Politics seem to have more than their share of bad apples, however. Lol.

Sales / marketing people. That is a job in which dishonesty is a necessary qualification. Even politicians and lawyers could be honest, or at least start off honest.
