They're really twitchy and a lot more hyper than a big dog. But they're still super loveable. You can hold them, they can sit in your lap, etc. Its cute.

Learn to look down, especially if your dog is very small, or very stupid. My mother's dog is the latter, and will get in your way and trip you. he's a corgi, not quite squishable size, but I'd never have a chihuahua (and especially not one of those charging-you-extra-for-the-runt "teacup" chihuahuas) because I'd be afraid of stepping on it.

I have two of them.....One is a little B....and barks constantly at anyone that comes over...She weighed the last time at 2.8lbs. The other is my chihuahua on steroids...he weighs about 10lbs but is not a barker. They make good lap dogs, dont eat much and if they have an accident you dont have much to clean up.

I recommend a Pug if you are looking into a small dog as the chihauhau be wonderful but also can be snippy, shaky and becomes cold very easily.

Not all chihuahuas twitch. That is only a certain breed. But I have two of them and they are such little lovers. They both sleep in my bed on at my feet and the other on my head. Mine rarely bark and that took alot of training. I love this breed of dog. My mom has one to and he is the same way as mine.
