  • Not unless the birth is a part of the story. Someone gave me advice once when I was trying to create a story based on an interesting character and kept trying to put more and more in. He said, "You should always tell the story you want to tell." Meaning, if the birth isn't a part of that, leave it out. If it is, put it in.
  • In the book, "Perfume" the main character's birth was at the start. What an amazing book! So my answer is, of course!
