  • You are right. They are not cheap and they are not that great either. The best I have found so far are from Molton Brown. They have many scent's, they are all intense and they last a long time. They also come in many different beautiful glass containers. They are the same price range if not less expensive than the Yankee Brand.
  • Good question, I don't know why for sure. Maybe it's because some of them will burn for 150 hours. I know someone that lights them and then lets them burn continuous for the week.
  • I love them but the cheap ones are just as good, smell just as nice and look pretty much the same
  • I wish I knew why they had to cost so much. They do have a lot of great scents, though.
  • The same reason that some brand names of clothing, shoes, purses, etc. are expensive. People will pay it.
  • Nah. Just scented candles. They are no more worth all that money, in my opinion, than the billions spent on glorified coffee at places like Starbucks and various other coffee shops around the country.
  • Funny you should say that, i was looking at them today as they have just opened an outlet in our town, they smell lovely but really i grudge the price. I think like other brand names, we are paying for the name. ~ Dont get me wrong i think they burn for ages and ARE really good, but its still a lot of money isnt it?
  • Ive heard they are really good but you want to try the fabreez candles in vanilla they are brilliant and the smell really lasts the other scents are not as good so stick to the vanilla and they are a good price i think they are just under £6
  • I don't think they should be that expensive, especially because they are not as good as the soy based candles that don't let off soot when your blow them out. Soy based ones are much safer. Yankees are not any better than other brands I have used. I never buy yankees anymore.
  • brand name And, ok, so they can turn a lump of wax into something that smells of freshly laundered sheets (cotton, mind, not polyester), but to be honet, I find it dificult to find a yankee candle smell that I would want to be permeated through my entire house
  • Hi, good question. I really like the concept and the design but I think they are expensive. I love candles. I find it ironic that the company was started by a man who melted down crayons to make his mother a gift. He was very poor. And now his company is making lots of money, I think it's lost it's way. Oh well off to melt some crayons Lol
