  • Most of the time they get away with it.
  • Quite seriously, there is a formal investigation AND the relatives of the decedent immediately file a mult-million dollar lawsuit which will be tied up in court for probably 10 years or so, but in the end, the next of kin SHOULD collect a big-time settlement.
  • not sure about Florida, and I guess it might also depend on whether the cop was a city, county, state or whatever cop..but from what I understand, the officer would have to go through a meeting with a board, be evaluated, undergo some psychological tests, and some other stuff, to see if the shooting was unavoidable or negligence or a comple lack of responsibility on the cops part. I'm sure the police force would investigate primarily to ensure that if the cop was negligent and a liability in case they are sued.
  • They are put on administrative leave pending an investigation.... and usually gets away with it...
  • Internal investigation takes place, officer goes incognito without pay sometimes. Officer throws up profusely daily, weight lost, depression, over squeezing ones children. Simply knowing an innocent's life is over because of him. A lynch mob mentality ensues by politically motivated people. The bastards fail to realize without him anarchy WILL rule.
  • The civilian dies. Civilians are expendable.
