  • Definitely helps. I'd always been skeptical, but I recently saw an incredible example of the power of prayer that left me certain.
  • well, im not an overly religious person, but i dont think praying can ever hurt.
  • I don't know if it helps but I don't think it can hurt. invis. +5
  • i think it can do both. If someone is needing medical care and you choose to pray instead of get that medical attention it can hurt, but if you pray and your belief in such things inspires you to try harder, then it can help
  • I don't know if it helps, but it certainly can't hurt....just in case.
  • It can do both. If a person's mind is strong enough, their prayers might have some effect. Sometimes the things they pray for are good in their eyes but detrimental in reality to whatever or whoever they are praying for. It's a controlled form of magick really.
  • Personally i think it always hurts since your spending time praying instead of doing something productive!!!!
  • I don't think praying in and of itself does anything at all. The person deign the praying will have a perception of what they believe should happen and their actions based on that could be good or bad.
  • It always helps. Even if you don't believe in God you can at least believe that it is a form of disciplined thought that can calm the electrical storm in your brain and facilitate mental clarity. If someone's beliefs include not going to the doctor when ill that is not prayer's fault.
  • I don't think prayer is effective. It has been proven that the success rates of prayer are the same when praying to god as when praying to a celebrity. However, that said, I still think prayer can help. If it makes you feel better, then maybe that helps. It can also hurt. People have let their children die as a result of denying them medical treatment, and praying instead. I think that praying is harmless, but it can be taken too far.
  • I think it might depend on what you pray for.But usually it helps!
