God loves music also.

It's boring. I thoroughly dislike happy, clappy crap!

Music is good.

I really enjoy christian Rock. I no longer listen to alot of secular music as much as I used to. I think Christian Rock is as good if not better then some of the stuff out there today.
-
Hmmm. Do they also have a Islam Rock? How about Buddah Rock? Shinto Rock? Why does the media marketing department need a category for everything?

In the immortal words of Hank Hill - "You're not making Christianity better ... ... you're just making rock-n-roll worse."

i like good music some christian rock is good and some completely fail at trying to combine the two i enjoy flyleaf and the shotgun effect(no website) who are both considered christian bands

I'm with Billy Connolly on this one:

I am not sure what "Christian Rock" really is. But if it is music renditioned to praise and worship God I would go along with it. In Psalm 150 we get to see the various musical instruments used to praise God for His acts of power and for His surpassing greatness: vs. 3 "the sounding of the trumpet...with the harp and lyre" vs. 4 "with tambourine...with the strings and flute" vs. 5 "the clash of cymbals...with resounding cymbals"

I think good rock music is good rock music. There is a place for everything and that includes Christian rock. Back in the day, I always liked Petra and another group called the Rez Band. They were solid musicians who had some very catchy songs. There is nothing wrong with being a band who has some positive messages. There is a place for it, just like there is a place for other types of rock music as well and I enjoy it all. Oh! One of my favorite newer bands is a Christian band called Fireflight. Music is subjective and there is a place for uplifting lyrics and darker lyrics, it is simply a matter of preference.

Generally, the music is good but the lyrics are really trashy or sappy. There are some exceptions though. Jesus Christ Superstar was a good example of good lyrics, but then again some don't consider it sufficiently Christian.

That's why the mute button was invented.

I think it's funny.

I may have to bite my tongue for giving this answer, but here goes. I believe in the separation of church and state. same goes for church music. Rock music does not belong in the church. I understand the praising of the Lord comes in many forms, but the church is sacred ground and should remain that way. An organ or piano is okay. Church is church and not a rock concert.

Some of it's ok....

As with any other rock, it varies drastically. Some of it is TERRIBLE musically and it irritates me to listen to it, because it is bad music. Some of it irritates me theologically, for various reasons. There is no space for those stupid "God is my boyfriend" type songs with the true God. Really, if God is like a boyfriend to you, you're a complete pagan dressed up like a Christian to make yourself feel better. A very little of it is some great music and I really enjoy it. That said, I'm not a big Rock fan anyway. Weird Al is one of my favorite artists, largely because he makes fun of music I don't like that much - and does it with exemplary skill.

I love it. I'm particularly fond of the band "Faith+1". Hope this helps.

Rock with christian themes does not seem to fit into the music genre.Rock music is about breaking boundaries, freedom of thought, rebellion, alternative lifestyles. This is too conservative and not part of the roots of rock and roll.

quick pass the barf bag !!!

It's so mainstream you really have to listen to the lyrics to pick up the Jesus message.
