  • Not all those chemical names on the ingredient list are bad for you. Many of them are useful vitamins, acids, or what have you. For example, if "alpha tocopherol" makes you cringe, it shouldn't. It's just vitamin E. Beta carotene is a healthy additive you're more likely to have heard of.
  • It is best if you eat what's naturally in the food, instead of trying to pick up things that you missed out on eating from other things. SO I am not much in favor of any food additives even if they are proven safe. Better to get something from it's source and all those microscopic things that didn't come along with the additive. Besides, most additives are affected by the heat processes the food goes through and are altered anyway.
